bullying - advanced workshops

As teachers become sensitized to the bully/victim issue and identify and refer them, schools are at a loss as to what to do next.  Assistant principals, school counselors and social workers are feeling overwhelmed.  How exactly do you turn a bullies’ behavior around?  How do you teach victims how not to be victims?

This workshop will show you how!  Whether you work with these students regarding discipline issues or counseling concerns, you’ll get the skills, activities and insights needed to make a big difference in both their lives as well as your school’s climate.

Identify strategies and techniques for helping victims help themselves

Learn and practice intervention strategies for confronting bullies

Develop skills for working with families of bullies and victims

Become familiar with  support group lesson plans and activities for these students

Learn how to set up and run small group experiences for both bully and victims groups

Outline techniques for finding and screening appropriate students for support groups

Practice techniques for working through resistance to participating in group
