advanced student assistance program workshops

Many Student Assistance Programs that have been around for awhile are now wondering "Where do we go from here?"  There's no need to just continue doing the same old thing.  Many programs around the country are experimenting with new, creative innovative approaches to assisting students.  This workshop will help you shake up an old program and implement new and powerful approaches.

Here's some of what we will cover:

bulletRadical policies that turn consequences into powerful SAP referrals
bulletBusting through resistance from staff to the existing program
bulletUnusual models for this thing called student assistance
bulletOpportunities for team members to reflect on what's working and what's not
bulletTeam building for new team members
bulletIncorporating issues of violence (bullying, for example) into existing SAP framework
bulletCreating new energy in a tired program

Time frame: This is a one-day workshop
