about support groups So many students with issues that interfere with their ability to learn, and so few staff who have the time or skills to assist. What's the answer? Put students with similar issues together and work with them in a group setting. Not only will you be able to assist 6-8 kids in the same time frame in which you previously helped only one student, but you'll be able to facilitate and encourage students helping each other...getting peer pressure to work for you in stead of against you. We call them educational support groups. They've been around for years now, and the value is clear. But the skills and curricula are not. Many school staff would like to run a group, but don't know how. Others are group veterans, but are looking for new tricks, new activities. Our staff have facilitated literally thousands of support groups for students. We are experts at this and we can teach you or your staff to become experts, too. |
